The Life of Greg

Born on March 16, 1988, in a small town in upstate New York called Sodus. Gregory Mark Logins Jr is the son of Greg Logins Sr and Shirley Jackson. He was a basketball standout in his small hometown, and then also pursued his talents at a prep school, The Kent School, which is located in Kent, Connecticut.

High School

Logins success started with the Sodus Spartans, which he helped lead them to a league title, and also a NYS championship title in 2005, which they went 27-0 for the season. He was named to the first team NYS as a junior. His senior year as a spartan, he helped win another season title. Logins was named player of the week 15 times. He was awarded as an All Greater Rochester player first team, and played in the Rochester McDonald All Star Game. Until this day, Logins still holds the record of 25 rebounds during the all star game. He also had the privilege to be apart of the top 20 in NYS basketball game, that was held at the New York State fair.

Prep School

During his prep school journey, He only did a post graduate year. his first season, he was named team captain, and he was named MVP of the season. Logins was listed to the New England top 50 best players in the whole state of Connecticut.

College 2007-2011

es: Three-time team captain... Finished his career as one of five players in school history to score more than 1,200 career points and pull down 750-plus career rebounds... Ranks 15th in school history with 1,269 career points and fifth in career rebounds with 758 in 123 career games... Closed out his career as a Golden Griffin tied for seventh all-time in career 3-point field goals (136), sixth in career 3-point field goal percentage (38.2 percent) and tied for 10th in career free-throw shooting percentage (76.2 percent)... Was one of five Canisius seniors in 2010-11 to start the season with his undergraduate degree work completed. 2010-11: Named to the Preseason All-MAAC Third Team... Ranked second on the team with his 11.8 points per game scoring average and his 6.0 rebounds per contest... Played in 30 games, making 23 starts... Averaged 23.4 minutes per contest... Ranked second on the team with 49 makes from behind the 3-point line and ended the season ranked second in the MAAC in 3-point field goal percentage at 45.4 percent... Scored a career-high 30 points in Canisius home win over Iona Jan. 23... Had a game-high 26 points, with 23 of those in the second-half, as the Griffs came from behind to beat Loyola on Senior Day Feb. 27... In that win, he hit a career-high eight 3-point field goals, which is the second-best single-game 3-point total in school history... Shot 78.3 percent from the free-throw line, making the final 19-straight from Jan. 9 through March 5... Ranked 14th in the MAAC with his 6.0 rebounds per game... Had a season-high 11 rebounds in two different games... Was credited with 14 points and 11 boards in the teams home win over Niagara Jan. 28, the 11th double-double of his career... Led the Blue and Gold in rebounding 13 times as a senior and 40 times in his career... Had seven or more rebounds 13 times in his senior season and 58 times for his career... Ended his time as a Griff with double figures in the scoring column in 60 games... Served as a student-athlete representative on Canisius steering committee for the schools NCAA Division I Recertification Study... Was a two-year member of the schools SAAC Committee... Was named to the 2011 MAAC All-Academic Team.
